Sedentary Behaviour Guidelines

Our leisure time is often spent doing activities that require little body movement (sedentary behaviour).  We spend time watching TV, playing video games or on the computer.  Modern day conveniences have also made us inactive.  We don't even have to get up to change the TV channel and we go everywhere in our vehicles instead of walking or riding our bike.

There are now Canadian Sedentary Behaviour Guidelines for the Early Years (0-4 years), Children (5-11 years), and Youth (12-17 years) that provide the recommended maximum amount of time these age groups should spend being sedentary.
